Welcome to Dodson Elementary School!
Our History
Dodson Elementary School opened in 1982 in southeast Reno. The school is named after Dr. Edwin Stanton Dodson, one of Nevada's most respected educators. Dodson has served generations of students and has become a neighborhood school known for its strong community partnerships and commitment to student achievement. It currently serves students in Pre-K through 5th grade. The school's mascot is the Grizzlies.

At Dodson Elementary, we believe the Grizzly represents courage, strength, perseverance, and teamwork—qualities the school encourages students to demonstrate both in the classroom and in their daily lives.
Our vision is to create a joyful, inclusive learning community where every child is empowered to discover their strengths, embrace challenges, demonstrate kindness, and become a confident lifelong learner who positively impacts the world.

The mission of Dodson Elementary School is to ensure that every student achieves high levels of academic and personal growth by providing a safe, positive, and challenging environment. We are committed to helping every child achieve career and college readiness for the 21st century.
As Dodson Elementary's proud partner in education, PK Electrical works closely with the leadership team and staff to provide resources that enrich the students' lives. Whether we are sponsoring their book fair to ensure every student has new books, celebrating the teachers and staff for their hard work, or volunteering our time for field day, we are committed to supporting the Dodson Grizzlies!
